Swara Shraddha Annual Day Concert - Dec 16,2012

The D Day was here! Students were in a state of exhilaration with a tinge of butterflies in the stomach.  During the morning Grand rehearsal, one could feel their emotions.

Come afternoon and Krishna saw to the seating arrangements before setting up the video camera in the hall. Pratham even did a test run on his keyboard to see that the view was just right for the camera. Gradually the audience of parents, friends and well wishers started pouring in.

The program commenced at 4 pm. Shraddha was the MC.

At the very start, Pratham, Aryaman,Dhruthi and Diya, all students of the Singing class sang the Invocation of Ganesha - 'Gananayakay Gana Devatay'

After this, the students of the very first batch of classical keyboard class, Prajesh,Pratham,Nikilesh and Neha , presented the Sargam and Alankaars.

This was followed by Raag Bhoop by Neha. She also played 'Brown Girl in the Ring' , her favourite song.

After this Prajesh played Raag Durga and his favourite song 'Jingle Bells'.

Following him was Pratham who played Raag Saarang and the viral fav 'Why this Kolaveri'.

Immediately, after him was Nikilesh who played Raag Kaafi and a old timer 'Nanna Munna Rahi Hoon'.

Thus ended the classical set.

After this Diya played 'Here we go round the mullbery bush' .

We then had Dhruti on the stage with two of her favourites - 'Row Row Row Your Boat' and 'I am a little Teapot'.

Having finished with the new students' presentations here, we had the mid senior levels on the stage.

Shweta played 'Vakratunda' and 'Zoobi Doobi' from the blockbuster movie '3 idiots.'

The last item for the day was presented by Shourya who played 'Bam Bam Bole' from another blockbuster 'TZP.'

Shraddha then gave a vote of thanks and the function ended with the national anthem which was played by Shourya.

Greats of the Program

  1. It was the First Annual Program of the academy.
  2. All the Kids were exuberant. They had worked hard for this day and were eager to show their talent.
  3. Each kid got a memento(a book from Shraddha's personal collection) especially chosen by Shraddha to suit that child's liking and calibre.
  4. The Audience was genuinely interested and encouraging.
  5. Krishna video recorded the entire event.
Misses in the program
  1. The program was limited only to the existing students and their friends, meaning only these audience were shared the invitation. In retrospect, We think the invitation could have been extended to a larger crowd.
  2. The original plan was to give certificates along with the memento. But the Certificates weren't ready till the nth moment and hence had to be dropped from the agenda.

The Fotos of this event are here.
