Shraddha comes from a musically inclined family. Her Mother, Mrs Aparna Islur, and sister are vocalists while her Father, Mr. Govind Islur ,is a tablaji . She started learning music at a young age of 5 years. This is not a great surprise since her mother who is also her main inspiration is herself a talented singer. It was she who gauging her daughter's Swara Dnyaan and rhythm decided to enroll her for Dance and then Music classes. Thus she started learning Music through the medium of Harmonium and Dance through Kathak.. With time she achieved a great mastery on this melodious instrument. Kathak continued parallelly yet took a back stage.
Her first ever public performance was at the age of 6 . She played a Chota Khayal in Raag Bhupali complete with Aalap, Tana and Tarana!!! The sight of a small girl playing to her heart's content the harmonium same as her size was heartening. And to top that when she reached the Tihayi without any mistakes, she was acclaimed as the force to reckon with. Now there was no looking back.
The years coming by saw her take her music to higher levels. She participated in state levels as well as national level competitions. She also became the recipient of Musical Talent Scholarship initiated by the Govt of India. She was invited to accompany seasoned singers and Tabla players on the harmonium. She gave harmonium renditions of Ragas at Sangeet Sammelans(Music Symposiums). So proficient was she that she could pick up any song on the spot, live.
After giving her Visharad Exam at 18 years of age, she continued her sadhana of Music.
As she joined Computer Engineering, she continued performing in the various college festivals winning prizes for her college.
Later as she joined the Software work force, she continued her relation with music through various corporate functions as well as community functions.
Today apart from being a part time Software professional, she gives programs in classical and light music,both instrumental and vocal, teach music to the interested while grooming her son Pratham who is already showing a great affinity to music from a prodigal young age.
