Photos and Videos of the Swara Shraddha Annual Day 2012 Concert

The First ever Annual Day of Swara Shraddha Music Academy was held on Dec 16,2012.

More details on the event are Here and Here.

Immediately below are the slideshows of photos taken on that day.

Embedded here is the playlist of the day's events

Swara Shraddha Annual Day Concert - Dec 16,2012

The D Day was here! Students were in a state of exhilaration with a tinge of butterflies in the stomach.  During the morning Grand rehearsal, one could feel their emotions.

Come afternoon and Krishna saw to the seating arrangements before setting up the video camera in the hall. Pratham even did a test run on his keyboard to see that the view was just right for the camera. Gradually the audience of parents, friends and well wishers started pouring in.

The program commenced at 4 pm. Shraddha was the MC.

At the very start, Pratham, Aryaman,Dhruthi and Diya, all students of the Singing class sang the Invocation of Ganesha - 'Gananayakay Gana Devatay'

After this, the students of the very first batch of classical keyboard class, Prajesh,Pratham,Nikilesh and Neha , presented the Sargam and Alankaars.

This was followed by Raag Bhoop by Neha. She also played 'Brown Girl in the Ring' , her favourite song.

After this Prajesh played Raag Durga and his favourite song 'Jingle Bells'.

Following him was Pratham who played Raag Saarang and the viral fav 'Why this Kolaveri'.

Immediately, after him was Nikilesh who played Raag Kaafi and a old timer 'Nanna Munna Rahi Hoon'.

Thus ended the classical set.

We then had Aryaman,Pratham and Diya sing 'Nani Teri Morni' with Shraddha on the keyboard .

After this Diya played 'Here we go round the mullbery bush' .

We then had Dhruti on the stage with two of her favourites - 'Row Row Row Your Boat' and 'I am a little Teapot'.

Having finished with the new students' presentations here, we had the mid senior levels on the stage.

Shweta played 'Vakratunda' and 'Zoobi Doobi' from the blockbuster movie '3 idiots.'

The last item for the day was presented by Shourya who played 'Bam Bam Bole' from another blockbuster 'TZP.'

Shraddha then gave a vote of thanks and the function ended with the national anthem which was played by Shourya.

Greats of the Program

  1. It was the First Annual Program of the academy.
  2. All the Kids were exuberant. They had worked hard for this day and were eager to show their talent.
  3. Each kid got a memento(a book from Shraddha's personal collection) especially chosen by Shraddha to suit that child's liking and calibre.
  4. The Audience was genuinely interested and encouraging.
  5. Krishna video recorded the entire event.
Misses in the program
  1. The program was limited only to the existing students and their friends, meaning only these audience were shared the invitation. In retrospect, We think the invitation could have been extended to a larger crowd.
  2. The original plan was to give certificates along with the memento. But the Certificates weren't ready till the nth moment and hence had to be dropped from the agenda.

The Fotos of this event are here.

Hearts and Roses Event in Purva Riviera

Yeah Valentine's Day is around the corner.

And Shraddha spent the 11th of this month(since the 14th is reserved for her loved ones) in a wonderful medley .

The Cultural Committee of Purva Riviera decided to put up a gala "Hearts and Arrows". They requested to put up a 30 mins singing event.

So she decided to set up three medleys of 10 minutes each. The first would be the Golden Oldies, The second -> Naughthy Retros and the third would be the Fiesty 2000s. Setting together a group was a major task in itself especially getting male singers was very difficult. But All's well that ends well.

So Yesterday, ie 11th February saw Shraddha resplendent on the stage belting out melliflous melodies and heart pumping groovies from the yester years to present year.

The crowd enjoyed and that was evident from the applauds!

Here are the numbers set up. The ones in Bold were Shraddha's Solo Performances while the others were either Group performances or Male Singer Performances

Children's Day 2011 in Purva Riviera

The Cildren's Day was celebrated in Riviera on November 13th.

The Cultural committee decided to have a cultural program for celebration at the very last moment ie on 11th night. Likewise i was contacted to set up some group songs.

I set about creating a medley of 5 songs to be sung in a group but i had last minute drop outs and 3 hours before the actual program I had to redo all the medley right from choosing different songs to cutting them and joining up to form a good medley. I also roped in my hubby Krishna to sing one song.

SO in the evening, when i took my final CD to the mixer, it turned out that it wouldn't work and Krishna had to run home to get his laptop to run the MP3.

Apart from that the program started well. I presented a medley of songs to the audience of kids and parents.

1: Kajra Mohabbatwala -> Me
2: Chaiyya Chaiyya -> Krishna
3: Dhoom Machale -> Me
4: Rangeelaa Re -> Me.

The Audience absolutely loved this! Thanks all for the accolades. :-)

The Video for this is below although my friend who initially started recording before my husband could take over missed recording a whole 5 mins of the show.
