Guru Poornima 2019

This year the Guru Poornima event was celebrated on August 3, 2019.  It was hosted by the students of Purva Fountain Square in their Celebration Hall.

With the lighting of the ceremonial lamp,  the day was declared open. 

Usually,  Guru Poornima means a Contest time for SwaraShraddhians. But this time, we went ahead with a simple Bhajan Program.  Here is the schedule

Sur Niragas Ho - Annual Day 2018

On Dec 9, 2018,  We held the Annual Day concert for the session of 2018.  Unlike last year, we presented a mix of Bollywood and Hindustani Classical Pieces.

Rehearsals began a few months before.Most performances were Group. Only the senior students in the Classical section got to go solo.

This year's Program  too was divided into two sessions  with a small refreshment break in between.

The emcee was  shared by  Pratham,  and Radha and was scripted by Radha.

As is tradition, each participant received a participation medal and gift. This time we also gave each student a Refrigerator Magnet , hand made by Mrs. Varsha Gupta.

Katyaar Kaalzaat Ghusli - Annual Day 2017

On Feb 4, 2018,  We held the Annual Day concert for the session of 2017.  This concert was fully based on the famous songs from the equally famous bilingual classical movie -  Katyaar Kaalzaat Ghusli.

Rehearsals began in Nov 2017.  The individual pieces were chosen based on the expertise of each student. Most were presented as group performances.  Only the very senior were given solo pieces.

This year's Program  was divided into two sessions  with a small refreshment break in between.

The emcee was  shared by  Pratham, Shweta, Rhea and Akshata and was scripted by Mrs. Shraddha Prabhu.

As is tradition, each participant received a participation medal and gift. The gift covers were prepared by our Student Mrs. Varsha Ghosh.

The Tabla support was given by Shri Vishwas Sagarji.  He was also this year's Felicitation awardee.

Guru Poornima 2017

This time Guru Poornima came on the 9th of July, 2017 and a Sunday that too.

We celebrated in two centres - Marathalli and Adarsh.

The morning half was dedicated by the Marathalli centres and celebrated in the ITTINA ABHA Hall. Students decorated the hall themselves. After Mrs. Shraddha Prabhu Lit the Ceremonial lamp, Santhi and Harshita, presented the Ganesha Invocation ' Maha Ganapati'

This was followed by a brief felicitation of Mrs Prabhu by Ittina Students.

The ever jovial students from Govindam centre presented a small tableau on Guru Poornima and felicitated their teacher again.

And then, We held our first contest for this year - Bhajans.

The Students were asked to choose new bhajans, ones they had not performed in the past. Totally, there were 3 categories.

All the keyboard attempts were really thorough. the bhajans were varied and blissful.


In the afternoon half, the Adarsh Centre had its Bhajan contest. Here we had Keyboard contests as well as Singing Contests with totally 4 categories

Guru Poornima Celebrations 2016

The Guru Poornima Celebrations for 2016 were held on July 31, 2016 at GOVINDAM Community Hall. The decorations and logistics were arranged by GOVINDAM Centre and they did a very good job at it!! Many Thanks to them.

The Highlight of the program was the Felicitation of  Mrs. Shraddha Prabhu. The GOVINDAM students Varsha and Shanthi planned it well and took the teacher by surprise. Varsha  Presented the Shawl , Shanthi garlanded her while Vainavi and Advik gave their teacher mementos and a bouquet of fresh red roses.  All this to a huge round of applause.


Pratham Prabhu was the official compere of the program.
